Match Report

Ayr recorded their second win of the campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over 10-man Forfar at Somerset Park.

The visitors started brightly and could have taken the lead through Ross Campbell but for an outstanding stop from United's keeper David Hutton.

It was as close as Dick Campbell's men would come to troubling the scoresheet.

Ayr took the lead five minutes before the break when Craig Malcolm opened his account for the season with a thunderous drive from10 yards out.

The Loons' Gavin Malin was taken off with a suspected dislocated shoulder after 50 minutes and Ayr made sure of the points midway through the second half when Darren Dods was shown a straight red for handling inside the area.

Michael Moffat stepped up to power the spot-kick beyond Darren Hill and the Honest Men kept a second successive clean sheet to secure all three points.
