Dunfermline Athletic claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park in a hard-fought Scottish Championship encounter on 31 October 2025. In a game of few clear openings, the visitors took their chance when it mattered most and then stood firm to protect their lead.
Ayr United worked tirelessly in search of an equaliser, but Dunfermline’s organisation and discipline made it difficult for the home side to build sustained pressure. With neither side able to dominate for long, the contest became one of patience and concentration, and the Pars emerged with the points.
The result was a frustrating one for Ayr, who will feel the match was there to be won if they had found a sharper edge in the final third. For Dunfermline, it was a well-earned away success and a reminder that small details can make all the difference in a tightly packed Championship season.
