Match Report
A late goal from Stephen Glass earned Dunfermline a Challenge Cup final place against St Johnstone.
The experienced midfielder cracked home a shot from 25 yards with only seven minutes left as Second Division Ayr United looked set to force extra-time.
Earlier, Dunfermline skipper Scott Thomson made a vital clearance from a deflected Gareth Wardlaw cross.
Ayr wasted a late chance to equalise when David Hamilton shot against the legs of keeper Paul Gallacher.
