Biography
Known affectionately as “Big Danny”, Masterton formed an effective attacking partnership with Walker McCall. He helped Ayr retain their Premier Division status in 1976–77, scoring nine league goals as the Honest Men produced an excellent run of results during the closing months of the season.
Masterton remained at Somerset Park following Ayr’s relegation in 1978 and left for Clyde in August 1980
